RE'S HOLIDAY ADOPT-A-FAMILY
The holiday season can be a difficult time for some families who are facing tough financial situations. This email will provide information for those families who would like to be adopted and for those families who would like to adopt a family.
Families Requesting Assistance
As the 2014 holidays near, our school receives requests from our school families, churches and civic organizations for families that could benefit from help. If you wish your family to be adopted this holiday season to receive assistance with purchasing presents, please go to the following link and complete the form no later than Friday, November 7th http://goo.gl/forms/9pwuZVFi7m
Please remember that this is a request for help; there is no guarantee your family will be adopted, however we will do the very best we can to help fill your need.
Families Interested in Adopting a Family
If you are planning on adopting a family during this holiday, please consider adopting a family at Raymore Elementary, knowing you are helping a family right here in our school.
All families will remain completely anonymous and confidential. Neither the family nor children’s names will be given; this includes both the family “being adopted” and the family “doing the adopting.” We feel this is important for a variety of reasons. All presents will be delivered to the school and I will be sure they get to the family. Please see below for more details.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting a family, please go to the following link and fill out the form no later than Friday, November 7th http://goo.gl/forms/8plPj8jQ1x
I will then email you with the information of your family, including the age, gender, clothing, and toy requests. Often people ask me what they can do for the parents. If you are wanting to get a gift for the parents, gift cards to clothing or grocery stores are always great. We thank you, in advance, for your help with this wonderful program. Please be sure to follow the steps below to ensure the most efficient and effective way, while maintaining confidentiality to deliver all presents in time for the holidays.
The information you receive regarding your “adopted family,” will include a number assigned to each family and letters assigned to each child (no names will be given). Do what you can when purchasing gifts and supporting the family, please don’t feel like you have to get everything on the list.
Please include wrapping paper, tape and gift tags we can give to the parents. This way the parents are able to see what the presents are, wrap the presents themselves and write the child’s name on the outside of the present to make it more personal.
Please put all presents in a big bag(s) and be sure to indicate the family number and child letters on the outside
**All presents must be bought and dropped off at Raymore Elementary by Monday, December 8th. You may drop off the presents anytime prior to the 8th. Please drop off at the Raymore Elementary office.
All of us here at Raymore Elementary wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season!

RAYMORE ELEMENTARY PTA TRASH BAG SALE
Parents: Our PTA has decided to sell trash bags as a community service again this year. These are quality bags suitable in size and strength for our trash needs and the yard work we will be starting soon. Check the samples of these bags and see the quality for yourself. They are twice as thick as Hefty’s bags. There are several different sizes of bags available, but they all cost the same…..only ($10.00) per roll.
Yellow – 39 gallon 25 bags per roll
Pink – 39 gallon 25 bags per roll
White – 15 gallon (tall kitchen) 65 bags per roll
Blue – 55 gallon (super size) 16 bags per roll
Last day to turn in a trash bag order is TOMORROW, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14th. Money should be collected when the order is taken. Checks can be made payable to RAYMORE ELEMENTERY PTA. Please return the order form by October 8th. Please note that 1 case of bags (10 rolls) weighs approximately 50 lbs. Your order will need to be picked up at school, as the rolls of bags are too heavy to send home with your child. The bags will be available for pick-up October 17th.
Let’s all get behind this effort. Buy your bag supply from us and offer them to relatives, friends, and neighbors. If you want to go door-to-door in your neighborhood, please have an adult accompany your child.
Again, please back us in this effort to make this project a success. All profits from this sale will go to the PTA and be given to the school where needed.
If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Kudron (email@example.com). Thank you in advance for your cooperation and continued support.

Greetings From Our Principal!
Greetings, Raymore Tigers! Each day I have the privilege of serving you as the principal of our great school where approximately 600 wonderful EC-4th grade students learn and grow. With a team of nearly 75 amazing and talented staff, we daily live out our mission of preparing each child for a successful and meaningful life and strive to realize our vision of turning today's learners into tomorrow's leaders!
I've been in education for 17 years, primarily at the elementary level but spanning preschool through adult education. I have certifications in elementary and secondary administration, ESL, Spanish and teaching. A graduate of Mizzou (Go Tigers!), I am also an alumni of SEMO and Baker University. I love what I do, and can promise I will do whatever it takes to help your child learn and grow and to support their amazing teachers and staff as they help them reach their goals each and every day. I value our parents and patrons as priceless partners in our children's education. Together, what a wonderful learning community we are for our kids! Here's to making each day count.
Wishing you well,
Michelle Hofmann, Principal
