LEAP/GIFTED PROGRAM INFO
Dear Parents/Guardians of students in Grades 1-7,
As you may know, LEAP is our district intervention program for gifted students in grades 2-8 who have been identified as gifted learners. Students must meet qualifying levels on identified assessments in order to participate in LEAP. The levels are prescribed by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and have been adapted to the Ray-Pec LEAP program.
Each year, parents or teachers may nominate students in grades 1-7 for candidacy to be evaluated for LEAP. The nomination period this year is from January 3 to 28, 2018. The nomination form link is available on our district webpage http://www.raypec.k12.mo.us/index.aspx?nid=889
As part of my role as school counselor, I serve as our building LEAP coordinator. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me or call me at 892-1940.

C.A.N. PANTRY BACK OPEN...
BUT NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE
The RP district's C.A.N. pantry is back open for 2nd semester and our shelves are pretty bare! We are in need of oatmeal packets, mac 'n cheese cups, granola bars, snack crackers, and 16 oz. peanut butter jars. If you are able to donate any of these items, they can be dropped off in the lobby of any Ray-Pec elementary school, Shull Early Learning Center, the Ray-Pec Administration building or the Raymore Chamber of Commerce office.
The CAN program is currently serving approximately 200 Ray-Pec students, Early Childhood - High School. This would not be possible without the generous donors and volunteers in our community.
Thank you for all you do to support the CAN program!
